Love for Life – Marriage Prep
Love for Life is an online, 9 week, Christian marriage prep program for ENGAGED or SERIOUSLY DATING couples who are considering marriage. It is taught “live” on Zoom by a Christian pastor and his wife who have taught thousands of couples over 35 years in marriage ministry.
Love for Life – Workshop: Weeks 1-6, on Zoom
In the first six, 2-hour Zoom sessions, you’ll learn crucial information about relationships and marriage, based on Scriptural truth and relationship research. You’ll have many one-on-one private conversations with your partner as you build skills in:
- Communication and conflict resolution
- Handling finances together
- Roles and expectations in marriage
- Understanding the influence of family of origin
- Nurturing your spiritual relationship as a couple
- Learning about your sexual and emotional intimacy needs
This is not a boring “talking heads” class. There are brief teaching times, followed by “turn-and-talk” times with your partner as you discuss what you’ve learned, and how it may apply to you. These topics can be challenging, yet research indicates that the more a couple understands each other on these topics, the less their chances for divorce. You’ll discover new things about your partner as you build intimacy, a deeper connection, and strengthen the foundation of your relationship.
SYMBIS Coaching: Weeks 7-9, on Zoom
SYMBIS Coaching is three, 2-hour Zoom sessions where certified SYMBIS Coaches join you to interpret YOUR personal, 16-page SYMBIS couple assessment. During these sessions you will have many important private conversations with your assigned Coaches to review and discuss your unique SYMBIS report (assessment cost is included in price).
- Your 16-page SYMBIS (“Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts”) report only deals with YOUR specific couple relationship, based on your combined answers to a group of questions. It identifies strengths and growth needs in handling money, communication, conflict resolution, sex & intimacy, roles & expectations, resilience, and personality differences, and provides personalized suggestions for your ongoing growth together. - SYMBIS Coaches are committed, volunteer Christian couples (not perfect couples!) who serve Jesus by offering their insight and encouragement to couples preparing for marriage. They have completed a SYMBIS training course, and are certified SYMBIS facilitators. They often remain as friends and an ongoing resource for your relationship – even after the class has ended.
